Loch Arkaig
Introduction
To the West of the Great Glen is Loch Arkaig, a freshwater loch in Lochaber that runs for around 12 miles. Overlooked by the mountains, the Loch has been a significant place in Scottish history – from a hiding place for Jacobite funs during the rebellion to the fabled home of the mythical water horse.
