Introduction
Once, the Lindores Abbey was famed for the spirit that flowed through it. Now, 523 years later, the sight remains something of a pilgrimage spot for whisky lovers. The Abbey was one of the first-named places linked to the making of whisky in Scotland – and now its namesake distillery is open for tours and tastings for visitors making the journey to this most sacred of sites.
