Welcome

Harry Gow is a family bakery from the Highlands, and its shop on Union Street, a few steps from the Victorian Market, is the easiest place in Inverness to try it.

Everything is baked from scratch, from recipes perfected over six generations: hot breakfast rolls, filled rolls and soup for lunch, pies and sausage rolls, scones, pancakes, doughnuts, empire biscuits and dream rings. In May 2026 it was crowned Scottish Baker of the Year for the third time, the first bakery in Scotland to win the title three times, and on the same night it won five of the eleven Best in Scotland awards, among them the best pastry for its pain suisse and the best doughnut for a lemon meringue pie doughnut. The shop opens from eight in the morning until three, Monday to Saturday, so it's ideal for breakfast on the go or a bag of something sweet for the road north.
