Welcome

Tucked down Strothers Lane, a minute from the bus and railway stations, Café Artysans is a good place to start a day in Inverness, and a café with a purpose.

It is run by the Calman Trust, a Highland charity that supports young people aged fourteen to twenty-five, and many of the people making your coffee are learning the skills for their first steps into work, with the trust's team alongside them. Every profit goes back into that work.

The food is hearty and home-made: full breakfasts, waffles piled with strawberries, French toast with bacon, scones and cakes from the café's own baking, and comforting lunches, with a menu that leans on Highland producers. The room is bright, with stripped floors, and shelves of teas and gifts along one wall. It opens Monday to Saturday from 8.30am, and closes at three.
