Welcome

Campsie Glen is a lovely wooded glen above the little village of Clachan of Campsie, where the Kirk Burn tumbles down from the Campsie Fells in a string of waterfalls.

From the small square in Clachan, with its historic church, the path winds up beside the burn through the trees, with plenty of picnic spots along the way. For the waterfalls, the path climbs steeply to a car park on the Crow Road above the village, where there are lovely views back over the glen, and from there a path drops round the hill to the falls on the burn below. Wear good boots, as the ground is steep and slippery after rain. Keen walkers can carry on up a rough trail to the ridge of the Campsie Fells. There are regular buses from Glasgow, and Clachan has refreshments and bike hire, so it makes an easy day out from the city.
