Welcome

Tucked into a short row of shops in Hyndland, The Bakery Hinba is the neighbourhood bakery of the Hinba coffee family, whose story began on the Isle of Seil in Argyll in 2019.

Through the big front window you'll see shelves of sourdough loaves, and inside there's a counter of croissants, pastries and cakes to go with a cup of Hinba's own speciality coffee. The bakery did brilliantly at the Scottish Baker of the Year Awards in 2026, where its chocolate olive oil cake was named Best in Scotland and its Empire biscuit took a gold. Its pain au chocolat and white sourdough won medals too. There are a few seats if you'd like to stay, but it's just as nice to take a bag of bakes off for a wander round the West End. It's open from Tuesday to Sunday, 8am to 4pm, and Byres Road is an easy walk away.
