Welcome

Smarty Art is a family-owned ceramic painting studio on the High Street of Grantown-on-Spey, a cheerful place to spend a wet afternoon.

You pick a piece from the shelves, sit down in the colourful studio and paint it however you like, with forty-five colours to choose from and staff on hand with tips and tricks.

There is something for every age: cups, plates, bowls and vases, piggy banks, animals, princesses and cars, and seasonal pieces for Christmas and Halloween. A visit takes up to two hours. When you are done, you leave your piece behind and the studio glazes it and fires it in the kiln, ready to collect two or three days later; if you are on holiday and leaving before then, they can post it to you for a small fee. Prices include the ceramic, the paint, the glazing and the firing. Walk-ins are welcome. Smarty Art opens Wednesday to Sunday from half past nine until five.
