Welcome

YURTea&Coffee is a seasonal pop-up café in a yurt at Skyeskyns, the working sheepskin tannery on the Waternish peninsula in the north-west of Skye.

Inside the round tent there is a wood-burning stove for cooler days and seats softened with sheepskins, and outside there are picnic benches looking out across Waternish.

It serves coffee, leaf teas and Skye baking, with homemade soup, quiche and cakes, rhubarb and custard sponge among them. Afterwards you can wander next door into the Skyeskyns showroom and tannery, where the handmade sheepskin rugs and accessories are made on site, and see how the work is done. In the 2026 season the yurt opens seven days a week from 10am to half past four, and it makes a warm, easy stop by Stein or on the way out to Trumpan.
