Most famous for its starring role in the opening scene of the 1981 film Chariots of Fire, West Sands Beach in St Andrews stretches over two miles of sand. The winner of the 2014 Keep Scotland Beautiful Seaside Award, it’s just fifteen minutes from the centre of town.
