National Museum of Flight

The airfield itself is one of the best preserved of the Second World War in Britain.

The star is Concorde. For almost thirty years, anyone who could afford the ticket could cross the Atlantic at twice the speed of sound, and here you can walk beneath the great white delta wing. Around it are more than fifty other aircraft, from light planes to fast jets, a Red Arrows Hawk among them, with cockpits to peer into and hangars full of the story of flight in war and peace.

There are talks in the conservation hangar, relaxed mornings for a quieter visit, and science shows and activities in the school holidays. It opens every day through the summer and at weekends in winter.
