Welcome

Night Owl Books is a cosy village bookshop in an eighteenth-century stone building by the railway bridge in East Linton, opened in April 2022.

The shelves hold fiction and non-fiction for adults and children, with signed copies and special editions, and there's a lovely choice of gifts from independent makers, with a particular love of wildlife and the natural world. It's a busy little shop, with book clubs, author evenings and creative workshops through the year, and midnight openings for the biggest book launches, and it runs its own book subscription, A Sense of Place. It keeps later hours than most, open until seven from Thursday to Monday, so it's an easy stop on the way home from a day on the East Lothian coast. Preston Mill, with its conical roof on the River Tyne, is a short walk away, and Hailes Castle is just along the river.
