Welcome

The Cheese Lady is a cheesemonger on Court Street in Haddington, founded by Svetlana, who earned the name at her first cheese shop in St Andrews.

Her counter is full of farmhouse and artisan cheeses from the British Isles and the Continent, each with its own label, and the shelves around it hold everything to go with them: the shop's own chutneys, pantry treats, cakes, wine, craft and Trappist beers, and single malts. It was named Scotland's regional winner at the Farm Shop & Deli Retailer Awards in 2022, and Svetlana was Scottish Business Woman of the Year at the National Business Women's Awards in 2023. Join the cheese club for a box of cheese every month, or look out for the shop's tastings and events. There's a second shop in North Berwick. The Haddington shop is on the ground floor, so it's easy for wheelchairs, and there's free parking for up to 90 minutes on the High Street and Market Street.
