Introduction
Cared for by Historic Environment Scotland, Hailes Castle is a fortified castle dating back to the 14th century. Found just a few miles outside of East Lothian, the castle is free to visit and explore the history of its heritage owners, the Hepburn Family. A prominent site among centuries of Scottish history, the castle has been visited by many historical figures.
