Lothian

North Berwick Law

Add to List

Introduction

Having erupted from the landscape more than 300 million years ago, the North Berwick Law is a volcanic plug. East Lothian was, historically, a spot of significant volcanic activity – though all that remains of this is the eroded rock that surrounds the hill. Take an easy walk to the top and you’ll see the home of a former naval lookout spot that was significant during the Napoleonic Wars and WWII.
