The Old School Beauly

A Victorian primary school on Beauly's High Street, its classrooms turned into separate shops for fashion, homewares, gifts, books, music and toys.

Welcome

On the High Street in Beauly stands a handsome Victorian school building of pale stone, with twin gables and tall windows.

The children have long gone, and in their place is an award-winning shop, still arranged by classroom.

Each room is its own shop. One is given over to women's fashion and knitwear, another to homewares, candles and throws, others to gifts, jewellery, bags and Harris Tweed, and there are rooms for music and children's toys and games, with a bookshop towards the back. Much of it is made or sourced locally, from soaps to Highland earthenware bowls.

The staff are friendly and full of local knowledge, and there is free parking right outside. It opens every day, from half past nine, or from noon on Sundays. The ruined priory at the end of Beauly's square is only a few minutes' walk away.
