Welcome

On the corner of Beauly's broad square, under a navy awning, Corner on the Square has served the village and its visitors since 2003.

Gary and Jackie Williamson run it as a deli and an eatery at once.

In the café, everything is made from scratch with local and artisan ingredients: coffee and home baking all day, and a daily menu of Scottish and continental dishes, from breakfasts to burgers and big salads. It is licensed, and stays open into the evening at the end of the week.

The deli is the other half. The shelves and counters hold a wide choice of cheeses, cured meats and antipasti, wines, whiskies and gins, and the greengrocer next door sells local fruit and vegetables. You can even order fresh Scottish seafood. A few tables sit out on the pavement for sunny days, looking over the square.

The Daily for 20 October, from Scotland with love. The broken stone walls of a lochside castle rise from a small tree-covered island, autumn foliage glowing orange against the dark water and forested hillside beyond.
