In the woods on the Black Isle, a short drive north of Inverness, Wildwoodz is an outdoor adventure park.

It is rated five stars by VisitScotland, and it offers four main activities: paintball, lasertag, archery and axe throwing.

The paintball and lasertag games run through the trees, the archery range sits in a woodland clearing, and the axe throwing happens under a long wooden shelter strung with bunting. The instructors are praised for making every session an event, even for just two people, and it suits families, friends, school groups and celebrations alike.

There is more besides: off-grid cabins to stay in, weddings and venue hire, music and seasonal festivals, and a Christmas wonderland called Winterwoodz each December. Activities are booked online at least five days ahead, or by phone for anything sooner. The park opens from Wednesday to Sunday.
