The Fotheringham Gallery
A gallery of contemporary Scottish painting and jewellery in Bridge of Allan, showing a long list of artists since 1997.
The Fotheringham Gallery is a gallery of contemporary Scottish art in Bridge of Allan, the old spa town just north of Stirling, behind a bright blue shopfront with flowers at the window.
It was founded in 1997, and it has built up a strong name for the quality and range of the artists it represents, from well-known Scottish painters to newer names.
The walls are hung close with original paintings, often bold and full of colour, from landscapes and seascapes to still lifes and portraits, and there is jewellery too, including pieces by Leigh Fotheringham. The gallery holds solo shows and themed exhibitions through the year, such as its Affordable Art Show, so there is usually something new on the walls, and it is a relaxed place to look even if you are not buying. It opens from Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and on Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm, and at other times by appointment.
