Dumyat
The craggy hill at the west end of the Ochils, 418 metres high, with a trig point, a stone-filled beacon and a memorial to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders on top.
Dumyat is the little craggy hill at the west end of the Ochils, and for such a short climb it gives you a superb view.
It's only 418 metres high, but from the top the whole Forth Valley lies at your feet, with the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle below you and the view running east towards Edinburgh and the Pentlands. The gentler way up starts from the Pendreich car park on the Sheriffmuir Road above the University of Stirling, about 7 km there and back on a clear path, muddy in places after rain and rocky in one or two stretches. On the summit there's a trig point, a beacon filled with stones and a memorial to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, first placed here in 1966 and renewed in 2015, in sight of the regiment's headquarters at Stirling Castle. New native woodland is growing on the lower slopes. Allow two to two and a half hours, and go early or late on a fine day, as the car park fills quickly.

The usual way up is the signed path from the Pendreich car park on the Sheriffmuir Road above the University of Stirling, a steady climb through birchwoods and over open hillside to the summit, then back the same way.
A steeper, shorter path climbs from Blairlogie on the other side.
