Cove Bay is the old fishing village on the southern edge of Aberdeen, and Sea Salt + Sole's shop here brings good fish and chips to its doorstep.

The business started in 2014 and now has three shops around the city, all run the same way.

The haddock is bought fresh every day, and the chips are cooked twice. The menu goes well beyond fish, with burgers, chicken, pies, puddings, battered sausages and all the sides, from mushy peas to curry sauce.

The shop is bright and modern, and it is a takeaway, so you can order ahead online. It opens every evening except Monday, from four until eight, and at lunchtime on Friday.
