Under the railway by Union Square, one of the old brick arches has been painted pink and framed with a great spray of flowers.

Inside is Sweet Mumma's Kitchen, which proudly calls itself the pinkest cafe in Aberdeen.

Leanne took over the little cafe in 2020 and made the arch pink inside, with a chandelier hanging from the curved roof, comfortable chairs and flowers everywhere. The food is brunch and lunch done generously: avocado on sourdough with poached eggs, full breakfasts, wraps, salads, cakes and pretty afternoon teas.

The cafe hosts parties and hen dos, drag bingo and themed nights, and its graze boxes are popular for celebrations. It opens every day from the morning until early afternoon, a few steps from the station.
