Wild Goose
A brunch and small-plates restaurant with a cocktail bar in the last pavilion at Union Terrace Gardens, in the centre of Aberdeen, open every day from 9am.
Wild Goose sits in the last of the pavilions at Union Terrace Gardens, right in the middle of Aberdeen, and it's a gorgeous, bright room of pale wood and trailing plants, with views across the gardens.
Upstairs is a brunch bar from 9am, with dishes like the Bread and Buttery Benedicts, a savoury bread and butter pudding made from Aberdeen butteries and topped with hollandaise, or the Estate Stack, with Aberdeen Angus steak and a poached egg on house focaccia. From half past four it turns to small plates for sharing, such as crab toast, with cocktails, matcha and coffee all day. Downstairs, the 60 Mile Bar pours local spirits and North East beers, all from within 60 miles of the city. Beneath the gardens, the restored Victorian toilets, original tiles and all, are now a space for private dinners and events. It's open every day, dogs are welcome everywhere, and there's a lift to both floors.
