Welcome

Few places to eat in Aberdeen come with a story like Glenhouse.

It's in Canada House at 201 Union Street, a granite building of 1893 designed by Ellis and Wilson for the North of Scotland Canadian Mortgage Company, and for many years a Bank of Scotland branch. The bank closed in 2022, and Glenhouse opened here in 2025 as a modern bistro with a European twist. The old bank vaults are now private dining rooms and a whisky lounge, and the Canada House nameplate still sits above the door. The day starts at 9am with breakfast, from a full Scottish to eggs royale. Later come tapas, pastas such as lobster tagliatelle and creamy crab pappardelle, and steaks from the grill, up to a tomahawk to share. On weekdays from noon to 6pm, the lunch and pre-theatre menu brings a mimosa and three tapas. Look out for the work of local artists and makers, on show and for sale. Book a table through its website.
