Welcome

Bistro Verde is an independent seafood restaurant on the Green, one of the oldest corners of Aberdeen, just below Union Street.

The menu is all about the sea, made in the kitchen from local ingredients wherever possible. Start with natural oysters, Cullen skink or Shetland mussels in white wine and cream, then go for the house bouillabaisse, with mussels, clams, langoustines, tiger prawns and seasonal fish in a creamy shellfish bisque. Pan-seared scallops come with cauliflower and black pudding, and there's always a board of specials with the day's fresh catch. The bread is from Bandit Bakery, and a pumpkin and mascarpone risotto and ginger beer battered tofu look after anyone who would rather not eat fish. At lunchtime from Wednesday to Saturday there's a set menu of two or three courses. It's open every day but Sunday, so book a table through its website, especially at the weekend.
