Lunch at the Tolbooth Tavern
Introduction
One of the most famous buildings in Edinburgh’s Canongate area, the Tolbooth Tavern dates back to the 16th century where it was used for levying of customs and tolls when first built, it’s also been used as a prison and courthouse and now a bar and restaurant.
With great food, atmosphere and a lengthy whisky list this is a great place to grab some lunch or enjoy a dram.
If your into photography you can also Head into the Canongate Kirkyard where you can get an interesting perspective of the rear of the building.
