A coffee shop and doughnut bakery in one of the railway arches of East Market Street, by Waverley, with fresh doughnuts every day.

Welcome

Behind Waverley station, the railway runs over a line of stone arches along East Market Street, and in one of them, behind a tall arched window advertising a Donutterie and speciality coffee, is Room & Rumours.

The doughnuts are the draw. They are made fresh each day and set out in trays along the counter, filled and topped with cream, custard, jams and berries, each flavour marked on a little chalkboard, beside trays of iced cinnamon rolls and glazed buns. The coffee is taken just as seriously, pulled on a pair of gleaming espresso machines, with plant milks for anyone who wants them. The room under the arch is snug and playful, with pink neon signs reading Blah Blah Blah and All eyes on me, rattan chairs, a cushioned banquette and a window bar of leather stools.

Room & Rumours opens every day from eight until half past four. Dogs are welcome.
