The Black Grape
An independent wine bar and small plates restaurant on the Canongate, on the Royal Mile, with a seasonal menu from Scotland's larder and artisan wines by the glass.
There's something about a glass of good wine and a table full of small plates, and The Black Grape, on the Canongate stretch of the Royal Mile, does both beautifully.
It's an independent wine bar and restaurant, with a wine and cocktail bar and a dining room serving small plates made from the best of Scotland's larder. The menu changes every twelve weeks with the seasons, so you might find oysters, sea bass crudo, an nduja Scotch egg or hand-dived scallops, with a board of cheeses from Mellis to finish. The wines are artisan bottles, and plenty of them come by the glass. It has won Best New Business at the Scottish Licensed Trade News Awards. It's open every day from noon until midnight, and you can book a table online.
