Elois Café is a small neighbourhood café on Queen Margaret Drive, on the edge of the West End between the Botanic Gardens and North Kelvinside, and a favourite with the people who live round about.

Its chalked board on the pavement promises full breakfasts, morning rolls, fresh coffee, ice cream and cakes served all day, and that is a fair summary.

The breakfasts are big plates of bacon, sausage, black pudding, eggs, beans and toast. There is avocado on toast with poached eggs and tomato, sweet crêpes folded round fruit and chocolate and finished with cream, toasted paninis with salad, pasta dishes at lunchtime, and milkshakes in jars. The coffee is served in real cups on rustic wooden tables, with latte art on top. It is an easy, unfussy place for a slow breakfast or a lunch after a walk in the Botanic Gardens or along the Kelvin. Elois Café opens every day from ten in the morning until six in the evening, and until seven on Saturday.
