Craigies Farm
A fruit and vegetable farm near South Queensferry with a farm shop and butcher, a café, pick-your-own from June to October and a playbarn for little ones.
There's something lovely about a farm where you can pick your own fruit and then sit down to lunch made from the same fields, and Craigies, just outside Edinburgh near South Queensferry, does both beautifully.
Part of the Rosebery Estate, it began as a single table selling fruit in 1988, and in 2026 it was named Pick Your Own of the Year at the Farm Retail Awards. From June to October you book a slot and fill your punnets with strawberries, raspberries, cherries, currants and blueberries, then apples from the orchard in autumn. The farm shop is full of the farm's own fruit and vegetables, bread baked every morning, a butcher's counter, Scottish cheeses and jams made in the farm's own kitchen. The café cooks with what grows outside. Little ones love the Little Farmers playbarn and the animal shed, and the year runs from tulips in spring to the pumpkin festival in October. Parking is free, and the shop and café are open every day.
