Balliemore Farm Shop, Kerrera
An honesty shop on Balliemore Farm on the Isle of Kerrera, near the ferry, selling the farm's own meat, island produce, crafts and ice cream.
A short walk up from the ferry on the Isle of Kerrera, a little blue timber hut with flowers in its window boxes is the Balliemore Farm Shop.
Balliemore is a small family farm, mostly sheep, with a herd of Dexter cows crossed with an Aberdeen Angus bull for grass-fed beef, and pigs raised outdoors.
The shop works on trust. You choose what you want and pay in the honesty box, by cash or bank transfer. Inside you might find the farm's own meat, from sausages to steaks, alongside island crafts, tea made from herbs grown on Kerrera, dulse, cakes and ice cream for a hot day.
It is a good last stop before the ferry back to the mainland.
