Uisge Bothy
Introduction
Uisge is one of Inverlonan’s three architecturally designed off-grid bothies, set directly on the banks of Loch Nell, six miles from Oban. Built for two adults, it has rich green clay walls, carefully placed windows, a private deck and a mezzanine double luxury mattress reached by ladder. Power is fully renewable, with enough for lights, phone charging and small appliances. Stays include a locally sourced Farm to Bothy breakfast, delivered to the bothy, along with access to canoes, SUPs, paddle boards and a fishing rod for exploring the loch.
Facilities & Services
Uisge includes a private deck, outdoor shower, personal eco toilet, kitchenette, cooking utensils, crockery, tea, coffee, larder sundries, wood-burning cooking stove, campfire pit, outdoor wood-fired pizza oven, Yeti adventure cooler and luxury bed linen. A Farm to Bothy breakfast is included, with extra provisions available to order.
Location
Uisge Bothy is at Inverlonan, near Oban, on the banks of Loch Nell. The bothies sit lochside near Bronze Age stone circles, wildlife and open Highland scenery. Parking is at the farm, around 1.5km from the bothies, with access by foot, buggy or water.
Good to know
Uisge sleeps two adults only, with the bed on a mezzanine floor reached by ladder. There is no WiFi, though some 4G may be available depending on network. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 10am. Guests should pack lightly, with secure storage available at the farm.
What's nearby
Loch Nell is on the doorstep, with canoes, SUPs, sit-on-top kayaks and fishing rods available. Inverlonan also has native woodland, black grouse, white-tailed eagles, hen harriers, Black Lochs and SSSI land to the north, plus Neolithic and Iron Age sites including Strontoiller stone circle and Clach Na Caraig.
