Dog-Friendly Places to Stay in Perthshire

Perthshire is wonderful walking country, with forest paths, riverbanks and quiet glens to explore. These are the places to stay where the dog is as welcome as you are, from cabins by the loch to a Victorian lodge with a boot room for wet dogs.

A holiday is always better when the whole family comes, and that includes the one with four legs. In Perthshire you're never far from a good walk, whether it's the woods around Dunkeld, the banks of the Tay or the hills around Loch Rannoch. Come back tired and muddy, dry off, and put your feet up while the dog does the same.

We've picked out our favourite dog-friendly places to stay. There's a Highland cottage from the 1720s by Loch Rannoch with a bed ready for the dog, and a Victorian lodge in the glen with a boot room for drying off. There are quiet cottages up a gravel track and down a private drive, cabins by the lochs, and a hillside farm where dogs are welcome on leads. For something grander, there's a country house hotel near Perth. Some have a limit on numbers, so check the details before you book.
