The Wandering Bear Cafe
A cafe, lodge and farm shop by Loch of Lintrathen in the Angus glens, run by Lauren and Calum and their family. It was once the Wee Bear.
In the rolling hills of the Angus glens, by Loch of Lintrathen, the Wandering Bear is a family business run by Lauren and Calum, with a good deal of help from their two young children.
What was once the Wee Bear has grown into a cafe, a farm shop and a lodge.
The cafe sits in a round dining room under a spoked timber roof, with windows onto the countryside. The counter is laden with home baking, cakes, scones and traybakes, and there are coffees, soups and light lunches, while the farm shop stocks local produce, artisan goods and everyday things for anyone staying in the glens.
The cafe opens from Thursday to Monday, on the way up Glen Isla or round the loch. The Lodge at Lochside is somewhere to stay.
