Welcome

On the High Street, facing St Giles' across the cobbles, Luckenbooths fills the ground floor of the Old Town Chambers with a long, warm dining room of leather banquettes and framed pictures, and a terrace out on the street.

The name comes from the Royal Mile's own past: the luckenbooths were the locked booths, little shops that once crowded the street beside St Giles'. The restaurant has borrowed the name for a place that serves from early morning to late at night. Breakfast brings a full Scottish, eggs Benedict and pancakes; later there is brunch, an all-day menu of Scottish produce, and a roast on Sundays, with a full list of drinks.

The terrace looks out over some of the city's most famous landmarks and catches the sun. Luckenbooths is open every day from half past seven until eleven at night, and tables can be booked.
