Welcome
In a village with no road in, the shop matters, and Inverie's is run by its community through the Knoydart Foundation.
It is a bright, welcoming room of wooden shelves, with antlers on the walls, orange lamps overhead and a pegboard wall hung with goods.
Alongside food, drink and the everyday things walkers and campers need, it sells crafts made on the peninsula: balls of Knoydart wool, carved wooden spoons and its own Knoydart coffee, with paintings of the landscape on the walls. There is a post office counter too, and the Foundation sells its own wild venison.
The shop opens every day from ten until six, a short walk from the pier, so it is easy to stock up before heading out on a walk or back to the boat. It also sells online.
