On Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st of September 2025, Gartshore Park in Kirkcudbright will host the Kirkcudbright Kite Festival on the Solway Pitches. From 11 am to 3 pm each day, families can gather to watch giant kites soar overhead, try flying a kite of their own, or take part in kite-making sessions—all at no cost. The event includes children's entertainment, refreshments, and a warm, communal atmosphere.
