Harriet's Lodestar Lodge

For four, with two bedrooms and room for the dog.

Welcome

Harriet's Lodestar is tucked into the woods in a quiet corner of the Dunskey Estate, with a private path down to its own dock on the loch.

Inside it's sunny and bold, with a yellow velvet sofa, a Persian rug and a round table by the kitchen. There are two bedrooms, one with a shell-shaped headboard and a painted wall of flowers, and each has its own bathroom. Outside there's a patio and an outdoor bath under the trees, and on clear nights the stars are wonderful. It suits a couple or a small family, and there's a welcome hamper when you arrive.

A seemingly endless supply of magic and wonder exists across our slice of coastal Scotland.

At Dunskey Estate
Where it is

The lodge stands in woodland beside the Upper Loch on Dunskey Estate, which covers 2,000 acres of coastal Galloway between Portpatrick and Killantringan Lighthouse on the Rhins peninsula.

Portpatrick village, its harbour and pubs are about three miles away, with the estate's glen path running past a waterfall to two private bays. Stranraer, eight miles east, has the supermarkets and railway station, the Cairnryan ferries to Northern Ireland are 20 minutes away, and Glasgow is roughly two hours by car.
