Castello Coffee

A speciality coffee house on Barclay Terrace in Bruntsfield, looking out over the Links, with Allpress espresso and a mezzanine.

Welcome

On Barclay Terrace, where the tenements of Bruntsfield look out over the green sweep of Bruntsfield Links, a pale green shopfront with gold lettering and a small painted mug in the window is Castello Coffee.

It began life on Castle Street in the New Town, and its home now is here on the south side.

The room has plenty of character, with a mezzanine above the counter and space for more than forty, and the espresso machine stands in the window where passers-by can see it at work. The coffee is made with Allpress espresso, and alongside it come loose-leaf teas, soups, wraps, and cakes such as carrot cake and chocolate hazelnut.

It makes a good start or end to a walk across the Links and the Meadows, and the independent shops of Bruntsfield Place are a few minutes away.

We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
