A bar and restaurant on Bruntsfield Place since 1992, known to locals as Monties, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner every day.
On Bruntsfield Place, Montpeliers has been part of the neighbourhood since 1992, and to the people who live around it, it has always been Monties.
Locals drop in from the first coffee of the morning until late at night.
The day starts with breakfast and brunch, the things it is best known for, and the Full Monty breakfast is a local favourite. Then come lunches and dinners of burgers, sandwiches, salads and bowls, with a long bar of beers, wine and cocktails behind it. Inside, the long room runs back under trailing plants and hanging lights, with red leather banquettes, and in good weather there are tables out on the pavement under olive trees.
