A short walk from Skeabost House, a tiny island in the River Snizort was once the cathedral of the Isles.

Eilean Chaluim Chille, St Columba's Isle, holds the grassy ruins of one of the largest churches in the Hebrides. From about 1387 it was the seat of the bishops of Sodor, the medieval diocese of the Isles. It faded when no great family chose to be buried there, and today it is a quiet graveyard among the trees, reached by a footbridge from the road.

Inside Garden Cottage.

Garden Cottage is a Highland cottage from the 1720s at West Tempar, on a family farm at the foot of Schiehallion, two miles from Kinloch Rannoch. The keeper of the old walled kitchen garden beside it would once have lived here, and it has been newly refurbished in the spirit of Scottish country living, light and airy with a fire at its heart. It sleeps two, in one king bedroom with a wide view over the loch to the north and Schiehallion to the south.
