Every one of these is somewhere we would book ourselves: lodges in the woods and walled gardens of the Dunskey estate by Portpatrick, the head gardener's house between two lochs, a white lodge in a cove under the cliffs and an apartment inside an Edwardian castle. Fawn's Velvet sits in a sunny corner of a walled garden built at the end of the Victorian era, on the Dunskey Estate by Portpatrick. The sitting room has a velvet sofa, a painted wall of sea and sky and an open fireplace, and one bedroom has twin beds set into the stalls of the old stables. There are two bedrooms, each with its own smart bathroom. It's eco-friendly too, with good insulation and underfloor heating from renewable energy.
