Robert and Alison Smith, who own Anstruther Fish Bar in the East Neuk of Fife, have centuries-old family ties to the East Neuk fishing trade.

That history is why their multi-award-winning fish and chip shop in Anstruther can fairly be called a labour of love. Haddock is the speciality, of course, but you will find dressed crab and more from the sea besides. Anstruther is the largest of the pretty East Neuk fishing villages, known for its colourful harbour fronts, its bobbing masts and its award-winning fish and chips. Take time, too, to visit the Scottish Fisheries Museum, home to an extensive collection of historic boats and seafaring paraphernalia.
