Inside Garden Cottage.

Garden Cottage sits on the northern edge of the Aldourie estate, sheltered by the greenery of the castle's old kitchen garden, with its own orchard and wildflower meadow. It's a traditional Highland cottage, gently restored with a touch of Scandinavian calm. There are three double bedrooms, a light-filled kitchen with a log burner and a sitting room with another, and the bathroom has hand-printed wallpaper and a roll-top bath. Wander the Victorian glasshouses and the meadow, then walk down to the shore of Loch Ness.

Inside Tigh na Coille Cottage.

Tigh na Coille was once a manse, and it stands high on the hillside above Loch Ness, with views over the water and the 400-year-old Aldourie Castle. It sleeps eight in four bedrooms, each done in its own way, from a four-poster to leafy wallpaper, and one bathroom has a roll-top bath under the window. There's a large sitting room with an open fire, a dining room with a big handmade table, and a kitchen with an AGA.
