The beloved Elephant House Café on George IV Bridge in Edinburgh has reopened its doors four years after a devastating fire forced it to close. The café, often celebrated as the birthplace of Harry Potter due to J.K. Rowling’s early writing there, has long drawn fans and tourists worldwide.

Owner David Taylor described the reopening as “a dream come true,” as visitors queued on opening day to enjoy coffee, soak up the literary history and take in views of Edinburgh Castle. The café is now open daily.
