More than 80 Italian Renaissance drawings by 57 artists, including works by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti and Titian, will be exhibited in Scotland for the first time at The King’s Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh from 17 October 2025 to 1 March 2026.

Created as preparatory works for paintings, sculpture and design, the drawings include red and black chalk studies and a rare pen-and-ink torso by Michelangelo. Many of the 45 drawings on display have never been shown north of the border.

The exhibition offers a rare chance to view these fragile works up close before they are rotated out for preservation.
