The restaurant and bar with rooms is being redesigned by Malcolm Duffin Design, and its ten bedrooms in the old warehouse and stables are being done up too.

The Wash House at Eastside, a hill farm in the Pentland Hills, is run by a family who have farmed the same land for five generations.

The Cowan family have farmed Eastside for five generations, and their Scottish Blackface sheep have helped shape these hills for centuries. Jenny grew up in the farmhouse just below the summit of West Kip, while her mum and dad ran a couple of holiday cottages alongside the farm. She met Michael while he was studying architecture and she was studying landscape architecture, and the two of them came back to Eastside together. It is still a family-run business, and the Wash House, an award-winning conversion of an 18th-century farm building for two, is part of what they have made. Jenny calls it 'a true family agritourismo where everyone mucks in to make it happen'.

Moment George IV Bridge is an aparthotel of seven apartments at 12 George IV Bridge in Edinburgh’s Old Town, two minutes’ walk from Victoria Street, eight from Waverley station and twelve from the castle. There are six studios and one two-bedroom apartment, in a restored building that was once a language college, and from the Castle View studios Edinburgh Castle fills the tall sash windows. Inside they’re warm and calm, with dark wood kitchenettes, tweed headboards and a round table by the window for breakfast.

The award-winning Cartshed, on the Cowan family's hill farm at Eastside in the Pentland Hills, was made over with cobbles saved from a street in Edinburgh's Old Town.

Eastside, in the Pentland Hills, has been farmed by the Cowan family for five generations, and its stone steading dates from the 18th century. In 2022 the architects Studio IMA made part of it into two small studios for guests. They kept to what was close at hand: screens of charred local larch outside, screens of local ash inside, and cobble setts reclaimed from an Old Town street. The next year the work won the Regeneration and Strategy award at the Edinburgh Architectural Association Awards. Inside, the Cartshed is a calm, minimal space for two, and its large picture windows make the hills outside the main source of colour.
