The Whitehouse Gallery
A contemporary art and craft gallery on St Mary Street in Kirkcudbright, showing over 200 artists, with changing exhibitions.
Kirkcudbright has long drawn artists to its harbour and old streets, and the Whitehouse Gallery on St Mary Street carries that tradition on.
It is a contemporary art and craft gallery, bright and welcoming, with work by more than two hundred artists.
Paintings hang alongside ceramics, glass, jewellery, prints, textiles, sculpture and pieces of wooden furniture, much of it by artists from across Scotland. Among them are painters such as Kate Bentley and Jackie Stevenson. The exhibitions change through the year; 2026 brought a Summer Exhibition and a show called Conversations with Hornel.
The gallery opens from Monday to Saturday, ten until four. Work can be bought in person or online, and the gallery offers gift vouchers and interest-free payments through the Own Art scheme.

Scotland, in print.
We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
