PA Pop Up, Mill on the Fleet
The artists' and makers' shop on the top floor of the Mill on the Fleet in Gatehouse of Fleet, selling paintings, prints, jewellery and textiles by local makers.
In Gatehouse of Fleet, the old cotton mill of 1788 by the River Fleet has been restored as the Mill on the Fleet, a visitor centre with shops, a cafe and displays on the town's past.
Climb to the top floor and you find PA Pop Up, a shop run by local artists and makers.
Under the old timber roof, paintings and prints hang on white walls, and tables and easels hold jewellery, cushions, scarves, postcards and other crafts, all made in the region. It is a lovely place to find something original to take home, often made by someone who lives only a few miles away.
The shop opens daily from ten until four, though it is best to check before a winter visit. The mill's cafe and the riverside make it easy to spend a pleasant hour.

Daily, 10am to 4pm; check before visiting in winter.
