Welcome

Johnshaven's boats land lobster and brown crab, and at the Lobster Shop you can eat them a few steps from the harbour they came into.

It is a family-run seafood shop on Fore Street, and most of what it sells comes from the local fishermen.

Everything is ready to eat. Ruth's lobster salad is the family favourite, and in summer the lobster rolls can sell out. There is homemade crab and leek quiche and crab pâté for a picnic, and hot dishes too: half a lobster and chips, and lobster toasties. Eat it on the creel bench or at the rustic picnic table outside, looking over the boats and along the coast.

For a special occasion, sharing platters and dressed lobsters can be ordered ahead online, and there is home delivery for anyone further away. Walk it off along the coast path, or round the harbour, where the live lobsters wait in their tanks before going to the continent.
