Welcome

On John Street in Montrose, Ink & Quill is an independent bookshop that opened in 2024 and did so well that within a year it moved into a bigger shop.

Inside there are tables piled with new books and shelves running round the walls in every genre, from fiction and crime to history, nature and local writers.

The children's books have a room of their own, and the way in is through a wardrobe, like the door to Narnia, which small readers love. Among the books are cards, gifts and art, and a table and chairs for sitting down with a book.

The shop opens Monday to Saturday, and it is a good place to find a book about Angus before heading out along the coast.
